Starting Monday (02/18/2019), Jetstar Asia issued a new policy as a result of observing the experience of passengers with carry-on luggage when boarding the aircraft. The new policy allow passengers that purchased and selected seats earlier to get priority boarding facility. Therefore, these passengers will get baggage space more easily.
The early bird passengers can occupy seats in the second to fifth rows. Whereas passengers who purchase seats with wider legroom occupy seats in numbers 12 and 13.
Jetstar Asia’s Head of Customer Experience, Alicia Long, said that the company have had observed that passengers who purchased seats also wanted space in the trunk above the seat and they do not mind to pay extra cabin baggage.
“Since we give customers the option to add cabin baggage capacity from 3 kg to 7 to 10 kg, about 20,000 of our passengers get benefit from this additional baggage,” Long said.
She said that with the increasing popularity of adding carry-on luggage, the airline wanted to ensure that all passengers could store their luggage in the trunk above their seats.
“At the same time, we also want to make sure that passengers who pay to choose a seat and arrive on time can also store their luggage in the trunk above the seat,” she added.
The passengers can choose their seats starting from 9 Singapore dollars (around Rp 93,000) and pay additional cabin baggage during the booking process or through the “Manage My Booking” page on the airline’s official website.
