The national government-owned airline, Garuda Indonesia, is now officially serving Singapore-Bandung-Singapore routes.
During the inauguration of the route, the General Manager of Garuda Indonesia Bandung, Erina Damayanti, said that the occupancy rate on this first flight reached 80 percent.
“Alhamdulilllah, the occupancy rate is quite high, reaching 80 percent. And this is just the first flight. Hopefully it will continue to increase,” Erina said to the press on Sunday (12/02/2018).
He explained that this Garuda Bandung-Singapore flight will be serving 4 times a week; every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. It will be served by Boeing B737-800NG aircraft fleet with capacity of 150 economy class seats and 12 business class seats on each flight.
According to Erina, the opening of the Bandung-Singapore flight service vv was part of the airline’s commitment to supporting the economic development of Bandung city, especially in driving the tourism, trade, and investment sectors.
She hopes that this flight service will later facilitate access for international tourists to enjoy the cultural diversity of Bandung. The airline management claims to be optimistic that this new opening can maximize the potential of tourist visits to Bandung in the coming years.
“It is in line with the target of tourist visits to Bandung which is expected to exceed the 7 million tourists in 2019. We expect the opening of direct flight routes Bandung – Singapore vv can contribute to increase lifestyle traveler visits from Singapore,” she said.
Moreover, she continued, Bandung is also known as a leading creative and fashion city in Indonesia, which is certainly a potential for foreign tourists visiting.
The operation of the Bandung – Singapore PP route is also expected to be able to provide a variety of flights through direct flight access from Singapore which is known as one of the economic centers in Southeast Asia.
With the opening of this new flight, the airline also would serve four flight routes from and to Bandung; Bandung-Surabaya vv, Bandung-Denpasar vv, Bandung-Bandar Lampung-Palembang vv, and Bandung-Surabaya vv.
“It is expected that with direct flight services from Bandung, Garuda Indonesia can provide the best service, as a full service airline and also five star airline to passengers,” she added.
Bandung – Singapore flight routes will be departed from Husein Sastranegara International Airport to Changi International Airport with flight number GA 844. The reverse flight is served with flight number GA 845.
